Compal

Compal da Horta Veggie Meals

Creative Concept | TV

Eat your veggies, they say. They're good for you, they say. They make you strong, and healthy. And don't let me get started on carrots and eyes, what a combo!

Well, as much as we know how vegetables are essential for a balanced lifestyle, the truth is we don't eat them as much as we should. Compal presents "Compal Veggie Meals", ready made meals entirely made of vegetables and whole grains, a meal as wholesome and healthy as they come.

This tv spot taps into that early insight - we know we should eat more veggies, but don't exactly know how. Well, don't worry, Compal's got you covered :)

Peaners

Snacks fit for champions

Brand Activation | Guerrilla Mkt

We should’ve known better not to play with religion, but there’s one Jesus in particular we can’t seem to resist. Jorge Jesus, JJ, Mister, one of Portugal’s most emblematic football coaches (Benfica, Sporting), and overall walking meme. He was, and still is, very prone to craft his own vocabulary, creating new words, or just distorting others – in the funniest way possible.

In the press conference leading up to a game, Mister Jesus referred to something as being “peaners”, when he meant “peanuts” (as in really easy). The internet cracked up, once again, but we didn’t stop there. A few hours later, we created facebook and Instagram pages selling this new delicacy – “Peaners”, a delicious snack fit for champions.

We trademarked the name and logo, and started contacting suppliers. A few days later, a Peaners team was handing out peanut bags outside Benfica Stadium. Likes and shares kept pilling up, as the love and hate messages online (death threats included, that was fun). We gave interviews to several news outlet (always anonymously), and were contacted by several snack brands to turn our peanuts in a real product.

Eventually, with JJ’s move to Sporting, the novelty effect passed, and Peaners career in the snack world came to an end. But it sure was fun while it lasted :)

A Padaria Portuguesa

Do you know what you’ve been eating?

Creative Concept | Content Creation | Copywriting

Do you know what you’ve been eating? That’s the question we asked A Padaria Portuguesa’s (one of Lisbon’s biggest chain of coffee shops/bakeries) clients, in the loved brand first campaign in years.

The concerns about the origin and quality of the ingredients in everything we eat, are increasing nowadays. Is it organic? Is it local? Does it respect fair trade principles? In the case of "A Padaria Portuguesa," the answer is yes, yes, and yes, to these and many other questions.

That was the main focus of our campaign, which culminated in a newspaper disclosing the results of a study we led, on the eating habits of Portuguese people, outside their homes.

So, the next time you wonder if you really know what you're eating, at "A Padaria Portuguesa," you'll be glad to know.

Sporting Clube Portugal

Stromp Jersey 24/25 Launch

Creative Concept | TV

Arguably, one of Portugal's best football/soccer clubs, Sporting Clube de Portugal has more than a century's worth of legacy.

One of its founding fathers, Francisco Stromp, has a jersey dedicated to him, used only in special matches (like Portugal's National Cup).

We were asked to create a tv ad to showcase 2024/2025's Stromp jersey, a tribute to a great man, a true hero for all "sportinguistas" :)

Puzzle

Self-made jingle

Creative Concept | Idea  |  Jingle  Making+Producing+Recording

PUZZLE is an online credit brand, part of BNE Europe’s portfolio. They challenged us to create a sonic signature for the brand, a jingle to call their own (and not a generic sound library theme).

The brand had a really strong visual identity, a logo with 11 very different colours, from deep blue to fire red with everything in between.

This got us thinking – what if we organised these colours respecting the chromatic circle, and attributed to each one a musical note, in the Do-Re-Mi scale?

And what if we rearranged those notes following the order in which the colours are placed in the logo, and just hit play?

Sounds complicated, but just give it a listen - it actually ended up sounding pretty simple and earworm-y.

    ValorSul

    Recycle BinGo

Creative Concept | Theme Song Making+Producing+Recording

After so many years, wouldn’t it be expected we’d have learned about recycling by now?

To tackle this tricky issue, ValorSul, the company that handles recyclable waste in Lisbon Metropolitan Area, asked us to create a campaign that would lead to real results.

Knowing how hard it is to change lifelong behaviours, especially in adults, we asked ourselves – what if we turned recycling into a game, making it simply more fun?

At the time, Pokemon Go, the creature catching AR app, was taking the world by storm. Kids were begging their parents to go on miles long walks because, you know, “Pikachu is right around the corner, dad!”.

So, we created an AR Bingo game, with cards that were filled with animals each time you went to the recycle bin(go) - pretty ingenious, right?

We geolocated and pinned every bin in Greater Lisbon, making sure each visit to the recycling station was an actual one – while giving kids and grownups a new reason to recycle every day.

Recycling results were outstanding (EU deadlines - 124.000 more tons of waste till 2020) were met earlier than expected), and the game itself was a big hit back then - and still going strong to this day.

Oh, and we also composed and recorded the game's theme song in-house, which was pretty cool :)

    Time Out

    Restaurant Reviews

    Creative Writing | Food Critic

A couple of years ago, Time Out Lisbon was much more than the city's most famous food court. It was the go to for everything happening in Lisbon – trending nighclubs, top brunches, most amazing rooftops and, of course, best restaurants.

Under an alias, I wrote for the magazine as a mystery food critic. I’d visit the restaurants anonymously, and then destroy them (just kidding), and then review them.

It was a really sweet gig, which led me to some of Lisbon’s best kept secrets and some pretentious places to see and be seen (but not to eat). Hey, and I even got a, well, "facial massager" sent to me as gift by a (not so) pleased restaurant owner.

    Pretty cool, right?

    MSD Animal Health

    Scalibor Dog Collar

TV | Creativity & Creative Direction

Scalibor is a highly effective antiparasitic collar that provides dogs with many months of protection against fleas and ticks.

In this TV spot, which aired worldwide, we explored the idea that, with Scalibor, your dog is invisible to parasites.

This one was pretty fun to shoot, all without post-production - just a couple of wires, strings and good old-fashioned movie magic :)

    Alberto Oculista

    Match Day

    Brand Activation

Alberto Oculista, a well-established optics chain in Portugal, and one of Sporting Clube de Portugal’s main sponsors, asked us to develop a brand activation during Lisbon’s derby match  - Sporting vs Benfica - to launch their new sunglasses collection.

In a packed stadium, and during the traditional Jumbo screen team presentation, we introduced Sporting’s players in a (literally) different fashion – showcasing Alberto Oculista’s top choices in sunglasses for the upcoming summer season.

    Novamente

    Pensar Novamente/Think Again

    Creative Concept | TV

Novamente, an NGO dedicated to Traumatic Brain Injuries (“TCE” – Traumatizados Crânio-Encefálicos), asked us to create a TV ad that showcased, in a simple and non-patronizing fashion, what a severe brain injury can do - and how they were going to great lengths to help people with TCE overcoming their condition.

Getting to know Nuno, the real star of the ad, was a true pleasure and a wake-up call to never take life and its little things for granted.
